Katie and Mark

This two story house looking north over Blackhead beach has been through many rebirths. The multiple additions and alterations however have thankfully only improved what was most likely a two bedroom weekender only 20 years ago. A legacy of one such addition was a less than adequate barbecue area complete with a brick barbie that would have done justice to a central scene in the movie “The Castle”. Just saved from the demolition hammer, it has become quite the centrepiece/curiosity in the entertainment area Katie and Mark needed.

Marks surf board resting in a corner sets the scene nicely while bamboo screening on both walls and roof of the new pergola create enough shade and privacy without closing in what is essentially an outside room. The large step landings were ideal for their daughter Olivia to dance, perform and spread her fairy dust while the daybed at the rear is large enough for a snug two.
